Sweden

"Most Swedes that I met on STINT had never heard the Gospel in its entirety.  There is a huge need in such a spiritually dark country for someone to have an eternal impact in the lives of these college students."

Sweden, which once was a country that sent out a lot of missionaries, is now one of the most secular nations in the world and is a nation known for its post-modern thought, where only 5% of the population actually attends church.  There are well over 34,000 students in Stockholm, attending 3 different campuses.  These schools are Stockholm University, KTH (an engineering school similar to our MIT), as well as a very good business college.

Students in Sweden are similar to American Students from a social aspect and are very open to talk about anything, but generally do not see a need for God in their lives. Our objective for this ministry is to build relationships with students, exposing them to their need for Christ, as well as to work with the Christian students on these campuses and training them in how to effectively reach their campuses with the Gospel.

The City of Stockholm is known for being a major “hub” of Scandinavia and Western Europe for culture and business, and we feel that if the Lord will begin to change the hearts of people in Stockholm, the effects will not only be seen in Sweden, but all over the world as people return to their home countries.
